Motivation is important because it provides the drive for
people to accomplish their goals, maintain their responsibilities or solve
problems. Motivation can be created
or re-sparked by looking at one's goals, assessing the stakes of achieving
those goals and creating milestones as well as personal rewards for gaining progress. Motivation can be difficult for people who work in professional
office settings where they may feel their hard work goes unnoticed or the
constant pressures of a competitive environment wear them down. Motivation is
an important to maintain in a workforce, especially since it's one of the
primary driving factors behind a staff that is productive and works together in
a dynamic manner. To maintain motivation in staff, management is commonly
advised to try to find out what keeps their staff productive and engaged in
their work. Motivation isn't always important for maintaining productivity,
however. It can also be an important reason why companies retain their
employees.Because
of the obvious importance of motivation on not only a personal but also a
fundamental level in the context of business, managers oftentimes create
methods to boost and maintain motivation in their employees. Some examples of
this in action can be seen in monetary incentive programs or when rewards and
titles of recognition are given to employees that continue to do great work.
Some businesses also use bonus pools or orchestrate spotlights on various
employees. This makes them feel more connected to the company and therefore
more motivated to work towards the company's success. ask your self some questions. It’s important that you really feel
how it makes you feel.what makes you feel happy. When I think about the last part about what makes me happy right now I
really feel it. These morning questions are great because the way they are set
up makes you recognize things you take for granted and then they really get you
to feel those positive feelings. Make use of your creativity. Take out a piece of paper. Write at the top of the
page what area in your life you would like to have more ideas about. Perhaps
you want ideas to earn more money or become a healthier person. Then brainstorm
until you have written down 20 ideas on that topic. Then try for 10 more. Not
all ideas will be good. But some will. And as you make use of your creativity
you not only discover useful ideas. You also discover just how creative you can
be if you try and how motivating and great that feels.Just get
started don’t wait for motivation. You don’t have to wait for motivation to get
started. If you want to work in a consistent way every day then sometimes you
just have to get going anyway. If a project feels too big and daunting don’t
let that lead you into procrastination. Instead, break it down into very small
steps and then take just one of them to start moving forward. Tell your friends
what you will do on social media, via phone or in real life. Ask one or more of
them to regularly check up on you and your progress. By doing this you’ll be a
lot less likely to try to weasel out of things or give up at the first
obstacle.Spend less time with negative people who always look at the dark or
apathetic side of things. And spend more of the time you have now freed up with
enthusiastic or motivated people and let their energy flow over to you.Don’t
limit yourself to just the motivation you can get from the people closest you.
There is a ton of motivating books, podcasts, blogs and success stories out
there that you can tap into to up or renew your motivation. One of the simplest
things I do when I feel low in energy or motivation is to play music that is
upbeat and/or inspires me in some way. A break with a few songs or working
while listening to them for a while usually works well. When you stumble ask
yourself: what is 1 thing I can learn from this setback? Then keep that lesson
in mind and take action on it to improve what you do.Instead of deflating
yourself and your motivation by comparing yourself to others who are so far
ahead of you.remind your self why you are
working on it, Remind yourself of what you’re moving away from. You can also motivate yourself to get
going again by looking at the negative impact of staying on your current path.
Ask yourself: What will the consequences be if I continue on this path for 1
more year? And if I do if for more
years? I have found that this exercise has given me the kick-start I needed
many times in the past years. When motivation is running low then it’s easy to
start seeing your life and the aspects of it through a negative lens. To put
your focus on what you still have and who you are – and to recharge with
positivity and motivation – ask yourself a question like: What are 3 things I
sometimes take for granted but can be grateful for in my life? My answers
would, for example, be a roof over my head, clean water and not having to go
hungry. Don’t forget about the
breaks. Few
things can in my experience drain the daily motivation like just working
non-stop. Instead, work for 45 minutes each hour and use the rest for a break
where you eat snack, got out for some fresh air or do a bit of stretching.
You’ll – perhaps somewhat counter-intuitively – get more done in a day and week
and do work of higher quality because your energy, focus and motivation will
simply last longer. Positive memories will boost your motivation.Close your
eyes and let the memories of your biggest successes – no matter in what part of
your life – wash over you. Do a bit of research before you get started. Learning from people who have gone
where you want to go and done what you want to do can help you to avoid
pitfalls. And to give you a realistic time-table for success. This is important
to not get demotivated when things aren’t happening as fast you had wished.
When my mind is a bit tired or perhaps even overloaded my energy and motivation
goes down. So in the afternoons – or when needed – I tend to sit down with
closed eyes and just focus on my breathing for 2 minutes. Make each day count. We
don’t have all the time in the world. So focus on today and do the things you
really want to do.
➤➤Infuse
your life with action. Don't wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your
own future. Make your own hope. Make your own love. And whatever your beliefs,
honor your creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon
high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen... yourself, right now,
right down here on Earth.
